In 1994, I (Robin Lee Hatcher) stood in one of the large halls in the immigration building on Ellis Island, reading the names, ages, and professions of people who came to America on various ships and were “processed” in those same halls and either allowed into the US or were sent back to their country of origin.
That moment was just one of the inspirations for the three novels I would write about immigrant women who just happen to come from the countries that make up my own family history (Sweden, England, and Ireland). The series was first published by HarperPaperbacks (1997/1998). Then the books were revised and republished by Zondervan in 2001.
I have a special place in my heart for those books, so I couldn’t be more delighted that they came back into my control recently. I am doing some gentle editing and then releasing them with new titles and beautiful new covers (they’ve had the same covers for 25 years!). The series name is A Distant Shores Romance.
Yesterday the first of the three novels became available on Amazon in both ebook and paperback. For the first time, it is also available in Kindle Unlimited. Just look for THIS LIFE SHE CHOSE, Book 1 in A Distant Shores Romance. The ebook is being offered to libraries so if you want to ask your library to order, they can do so.
If you never read Dear Lady, I hope you will read the story now in this new iteration. Or read it again with its new title.
